  • Payroll Administrator Kelowna, BC

    The Emil Anderson Group has offices and shops in Kelowna, Chilliwack (Rosedale) and Terrace, BC. Operations include road construction, paving, highway maintenance, commercial construction, land development and housing.

    We are seeking a Payroll Administrator for the Head Office in Kelowna, BC. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday with some flexibility in start and end times. With COVID-19, this position may require a home office, although initially time will be spent working in our head office. Following the training period, the possibility of working from home can be discussed.

    Typical Duties:

    * Full cycle payroll processing for various companies in our corporate group including:

    • Setting up new employees
    • Setting up union agreements for new projects
    • Reviewing reported time and labour rates for high level reasonability and accuracy
    • Processing bi-weekly pay runs for both salaried and union staff
    • Preparing various government, union, benefits and pension remittances

    * Serving as the primary point of contact for employees and managers for payroll related questions and issues
    * Preparing various government compliance forms including:

    • T4’s
    • Records of Employment

    * Preparing payroll related reporting to various agencies including:

    • Government of BC – Employer Health Tax
    • WorkSafeBC

    * Calculate and track employee vacation balances

    * Calculate and report various taxable benefits

    Qualifications:

    • 3 years of experience in payroll, preferably in a union setting
    • Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite
    • Works well in a team environment with minimal supervision
    • Able to maintain a high level of professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality
    • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem solving skills
    • Natural organizer and able to prioritize multiple tasks
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

    Job duties will include drilling of production and shear-line, and occasionally helping the blast crew.

    Qualifications:

    • Drilling experience around houses and urban settings is considered an asset
    • Have operational experience with hydraulic drills; including Tamrock 800, Ranger 700, and Traxxon / Montabert hoe mounted drills

  • Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Terrace

    Emil Anderson Maintenance | Skeena is currently has a position available for a Trade Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic for its shop in Terrace, BC. The Trade Journeyperson Mechanic will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction equipment; including loaders, dozers, excavators, dump trucks etc.

    Responsibilities:

    • Inspect mechanical equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear;

    • Complete necessary documentation and maintain accurate reports;
    • Perform other tasks as required.

    • Negotiate and mange major vendor contracts and subcontracts.
